This example asks adults about one unlit sample, with separate questions for fragrance and appearance. Use it at a planned concept review or sample-feedback session. It records preferences at that moment; it does not measure how the candle burns or how far its scent travels in a room. ## Separate scent appeal from visual expectations A participant may like a candle’s fragrance but find it stronger than preferred. Report scent answers only among respondents who smelled the sample; show how many selected unable to assess. Compare scent liking with strength preference: a fragrance that is liked but judged too strong needs a different follow-up from one that is disliked at an acceptable strength. Examine visual appeal and visual-scent fit separately. A mismatch comment can suggest a label or color concept to test without proving either caused the reaction. Keep each sample version in its own results group. Do not infer burn performance, room coverage, safety, or air quality from these answers, and do not convert first impressions into a sales forecast. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can this survey be used with a candle photograph? Yes, for the visual questions. Keep scent and scent-fit questions optional, and classify those responses as image-only. A photograph cannot establish how the fragrance is experienced. ### Should participants light the sample? No. This questionnaire is for an unlit concept review.
