# Adding rules to logic flows

Rules are the IF part of a logic flow. A rule describes which respondent answer or condition should trigger the logic.

**Rule example**

1. IF answer to the following question

   Do you want to receive our newsletter?

   is any of the following

   - Yes
   - No

2. THEN choose an action Add a consequence

The selected condition in the IF section decides when the THEN section should run.
