# How to view individual respondents in exported spreadsheets

When you download your data in spreadsheet format, you will see each participation individually in its own data row. Data columns will show you questions and their respective answers.

*\* The above data are fake.* The above table shows an example of a downloaded spreadsheet file. First row shows survey questions, and each of the next rows represent one respondent. In this example, we only show first columns of such a file. An exported data sheet may also contain metadata, such as participation timestamps and location information. IP addresses may be included in the response export if IP address collection was enabled for the survey. Check which information is in the file before sharing it.

Note:

It’s even easier than this to track answers of each individual survey respondent. To learn more about it, read [Tracking Individual Respondents](https://www.surveylegend.com/user-guide/tracking-individual-respondents/ "Learn how to track individual survey respondents") using the **Individual responses** view.

### Filter responses based on submission status

In the columns, you will also be able to see when a visitor has opened your survey link, when participation has started, and when the survey was submitted. you can also see the total time spent on the questionnaire.

This way, you can easily filter out those participants that have not finished the survey (those which do not have a “completed” time), and filter them out in your spreadsheet application. However this is functionality is inbuilt in [Individual responses](https://www.surveylegend.com/user-guide/tracking-individual-respondents/ "Track individual respondents and see how each person has answered to your survey") view.

Tip:

A too short “time spent” may indicate the quality of the response. If you know a certain questionnaire would need a certain average amount of time to be read and finished by a respondent, responses which are submitted faster than that might not be “qualified responses”. You can filter them out in the spreadsheet, or [disqualify such respondents](https://www.surveylegend.com/user-guide/disqualifying-individual-responses/) in the individual responses view.
