Ask About Work, Not a Generic Green Attitude

Name the worksite or organization and ask about the past four weeks. Describe the resource-saving practices the organization actually allows, with safety and operational rules taking priority. Tell employees who will see responses and how small groups will be protected. The form is for planning a workplace change, not scoring a person's environmental values.

What Workplace Research Adds

Blok, Wesselink, Studynka and Kemp studied employees at a green university in the Netherlands. Their abstract says “there are clear differences between factors influencing pro-environmental behaviour in households and in the workplace.” Read the workplace study . The authors also discuss leadership support. One university's responses do not establish which action will work in another organization, and these original seven questions are not the study's validated measure.

Make the Examples Realistic

Publish the actual procedures outside the survey. Find an Action the Organization Can Support

Read action relevance with opportunity, instructions, available tools and ease during normal duties. A low-use action may be irrelevant, inaccessible or hard to fit into the workflow; do not blame employees before investigating. Compare themes only where group privacy allows, choose one fix, name an owner and check adoption later. Survey answers do not measure emissions, energy savings or waste reduction. Frequently asked questions

Is this an environmental impact assessment?

No. It asks employees what actions are relevant and feasible. Quantifying energy, waste or emissions requires separate, appropriate operational data.

Should employees with no relevant action respond?

Yes. Their answers help reveal whether the examples or program design exclude particular roles. The questionnaire provides a “no action” response and allows every item to be skipped.

Does this validate an employee's green behavior?

No. It is an original, short planning questionnaire informed by workplace research, not a validated behavioral scale or an individual performance rating.
