When to use this travel interest survey
Someone can like the idea of traveling without having time, information, or a plan. Invite adults who are still undecided as well as those already researching a trip. This early-stage questionnaire helps a travel organization decide what to investigate next; it does not ask people to choose hotels or commit to an itinerary.
Separate wanting a trip from being ready to arrange one
Ask about interest and planning stage before barriers. A low-interest answer and a high-interest answer with practical constraints call for different follow-up questions. Include people who have no plans so the survey does not describe only active shoppers.
Seven travel interest questions
Think about taking an overnight leisure trip during the next six months. This means travel mainly for enjoyment or relaxation, not work or a required journey. You can answer even if you do not expect to travel. Every question is optional. This is research, not a reservation or a request to contact you.

Adapt the travel interest questionnaire
Define the audience and keep the next-six-month period consistent. If you repeat the survey, record the field dates because the seasons covered will change. Do not present images of one destination before asking about general interest unless the whole study is explicitly about that destination.
Keep this version free of prices, passport details, contact fields, and implied reservations. An organizer can use the results to decide whether a specific proposal needs research. Once there is a real trip to discuss, the travel preferences questionnaire can help plan pace, accommodation, and activities. For feedback on a consultation already delivered, use travel agent service feedback instead.
Printable travel interest questionnaire template
Use the printable travel interest questionnaire at a community information session before a trip proposal is finalized. Include the same six-month reference period and explain where completed sheets should go. Review paper responses separately or enter them manually; they do not create bookings or online survey responses. State where completed questionnaires should be returned and who will review them. Paper answers require separate review or manual entry and are not automatically added to online responses.

Interpret the travel interest responses
Cross-read interest with planning stage. Keep “interested but no planning yet” separate from “actively comparing options” and “already booked.” Report counts and the question’s answer base; do not multiply interested respondents by a package price to produce a revenue forecast.
Read the available-time answer alongside the leading barrier and information need. An itinerary with fewer nights may be worth investigating when time is a barrier, but the answer does not establish willingness to buy that itinerary. Group final comments to find combinations hidden by the single-choice barrier question. Separate “No particular barrier” from “Not interested,” and preserve uncertainty. Recruiting only existing customers can miss people who have not considered your organization, so explain how respondents were reached.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a travel booking form?
No. It collects early research about interest, readiness, and barriers. It does not reserve places, collect payments, or authorize marketing contact.
How is this different from a travel preferences survey?
This survey asks whether travel is being considered and what makes planning difficult. A preferences survey helps shape the pace, accommodation, and activities for a proposed trip.
Can the results predict how many people will book?
No. Stated interest and planning readiness are not completed purchases. Use the answers to frame further research and compare them with actual booking evidence separately.
