This post-travel survey asks travelers about an organized trip’s pace, arrangements, guide support, and overall experience. Use the answers to choose what to change before the next departure.

A traveler can enjoy a destination and still struggle with rushed transfers or unclear meeting instructions. This SurveyLegend questionnaire gives those parts of the trip their own questions, so an overall rating does not hide a practical problem.

When to use this survey

Send the survey after the named trip ends, with its dates in the invitation. Invite travelers who experienced the itinerary rather than people who only booked on someone else’s behalf. An email survey can reach travelers after they return home; explain who will review the answers and how to contact the operator separately about an unresolved booking issue.

7 questions for your post-travel survey

Think about the organized trip named in the invitation. All questions are optional. Do not include booking numbers, passport details, health information or other travelers’ names.

Customize your post-travel survey

Keep only services the organizer actually provided. For a self-guided trip, remove the guide question before sharing and update the paper version to match. If accommodation matters to the decision, add a separate question about it instead of combining hotels and transport in one rating. A response about this trip should not become a judgment about every service at the destination.

Printable post-travel survey

Offer the questionnaire at the end of an organized tour to travelers who prefer paper. Provide a collection envelope or desk and explain when the feedback will be reviewed. Keep paper and online entries distinguishable so the same response is not counted twice.

How to use the answers

Read the overall rating alongside the individual service answers. If travelers report a rushed pace and unclear departure instructions, review the schedule and meeting messages separately. Keep “not used” answers outside satisfaction percentages. Group open-ended data by itinerary stop or service so the feedback reaches the person who can act on it.

Huang, Hsu, and Chan’s 2010 study of package tours in Shanghai distinguished several layers of satisfaction, including “satisfaction with guiding service”. This tour satisfaction study informs the separate guide and overall-trip questions here. Its findings concern that package-tour setting; they do not validate this original questionnaire or show that one change will improve every trip.

Frequently asked questions

Can this be used for a business trip?

Use a business-travel questionnaire when you need employee feedback about booking rules, expenses or work schedules. This version asks paying travelers about an organized leisure trip.

Should I send it before travelers return?

Collect feedback after the services you are asking about have been delivered. An earlier check-in can address a problem during the trip, but it answers a different question.

Does the survey cover accommodation?

The starting questionnaire does not include an accommodation rating. Add one only when accommodation was part of the trip and you need to evaluate it.
