How to use the answers
Check whether people identify the intended product, then read their missing-information comments. A high appeal rating does not cancel out confusion about the contents. Treat the attention question as a remembered impression, not an eye-tracking measurement. Use a hands-on trial before drawing conclusions about handling or durability.
A study of chocolate packaging found that looking at a particular packaging area did not consistently indicate positive emotion. This questionnaire therefore asks about noticed details and visual appeal separately. Its self-reported answers are not an eye-tracking test.
Frequently asked questions
Can I test a digital mockup?
Yes. Provide clear, consistent images and ask only about qualities visible in those images. A digital mockup cannot show whether a package is easy to open.
Does visual appeal predict sales?
This survey does not establish that. It collects reactions from the people who respond, without measuring actual purchase behavior.
Should I include the product inside?
Include it only if the task is also a product trial. Keep packaging feedback and product performance questions separate so you know what each answer refers to.
