What is a Car Dealership Visit Feedback Survey?

A car dealership visit feedback survey asks prospective or recent buyers about one sales interaction. The useful unit of analysis is the visit itself: what the visitor needed, how the conversation felt, whether information was understandable and whether the next step was clear.

When to use this template

Use this template after a showroom conversation, scheduled test drive or remote appointment with a dealership sales team. It is designed to diagnose the sales experience before purchase. Use a separate after-sales survey for repairs, maintenance, warranty or ownership support.

Seven optional questions

Use these seven questions as a focused starting point. Every question is optional so the creator can preserve the exact set, remove an item that does not fit the context, or adapt choices before sharing. The template is original editorial content, not a validated scale.

How to adapt it

Name the exact location and visit window, then remove answer choices that do not apply to the sales journey. If test drives and remote consultations follow different processes, compare them as separate segments only when each group is large enough to protect privacy. Keep staff names out of the survey unless a reviewed operational need requires them. Review question wording and open-ended analysis before launch. Keep each item tied to the stated task and avoid collecting data that the decision does not require.

How to interpret responses

Review the visit-purpose mix before comparing ratings because a browsing visit and a vehicle handover create different expectations. Look for a repeated pattern across listening, clarity, pressure and next steps, then code the open answer into actionable themes such as wait time, explanation, availability or follow-up. A low score on one item should trigger review, not an assumption about a specific employee.

Escobar-Miranda and Ballesteros-Sánchez reviewed literature on social-cognitive skills in electric-vehicle sales and proposed a framework emphasizing “empathy-driven communication”, adaptive reasoning and trust. That context supports asking whether needs were heard and information was clear, but it does not validate this questionnaire or generalize to every dealership or vehicle type. See Escobar-Miranda and Ballesteros-Sánchez .

Frequently asked questions

When should the dealership send this survey?

Send it soon after the visit while the interaction is easy to remember. Identify the visit window in the invitation instead of asking respondents to enter private transaction details.

Should repair customers receive this survey?

Use a separate after-sales or service-visit survey. Repair quality, warranty handling and maintenance communication are different tasks from the sales visit measured here.

Can one low score identify a staff problem?

No. Review repeated patterns, visit purpose and written context. Use feedback for process investigation and coaching, not as an automatic judgment about one employee.
