This post office service survey template asks visitors about one recent counter visit. It covers finding the right service, understanding the queue, getting staff help and knowing the next step.

An efficient visit depends on more than how long a customer waits. This SurveyLegend questionnaire asks where the process was clear and where someone needed more help.

When to use this template

Use it after a visit to a named branch. For a broader service benchmark, see the customer service template. This one focuses on the post office counter, not a parcel’s later delivery.

Customize your post office service survey

Name one branch and a 30-day period. Keep no-queue and no-staff options to avoid false ratings. If the branch has kiosks, add a tested question about menu clarity; do not assume every location uses one. Report only actionable local themes.

Provide the same blank questionnaire at an exit or through a private return method, separate from shipping forms. Keep tracking numbers and sender or recipient addresses off the paper copy. Paper feedback is not automatically captured online.

How to use the answers

Compare queue navigation, waiting and staff explanation as separate issues. Group open-ended data into signage, service routing, accessibility and clarity. Do not treat a subjective wait rating as measured service time or use these answers to infer delivery reliability.

Dević and Poljak’s 2023 study interviewed 580 customers in 29 Croatian post offices. Their postal queue study separately assessed “satisfaction with the speed of service”, counter staff and queue information. It supports asking about queue clarity and help in addition to waiting. This short original questionnaire is not that study’s validated instrument, and one-country findings do not represent all branches.

Frequently asked questions

Does this measure how long people actually waited?

No. It asks whether the wait felt acceptable. Record elapsed time separately if the office needs an operational measure.

Can it evaluate a parcel delivery?

No. This version concerns an in-person counter visit. Delivery needs a different reference event and questions.

What if a branch has no queue kiosk?

The questions do not assume a kiosk. Add one only when visitors actually use it and the office can act on that feedback.
